She began her career as a neonatal nurse – a role that enabled her to invest in the future by helping critically ill babies. The shift from nursing to health care technology was a natural fit for Pamela, who believes that technology has the ability to transform health care. Her consulting experience with Ernst & Young and KPMG, along with her EHR/clinical operations positions with Kaiser Permanente (Health Connect) and the National Health System – United Kingdom (Connecting for Health), fostered her interest in advanced technology, compassionate patient care, and clinical research. All of her experience coalesced at UCSF in her current role overseeing all technology components for the UCSF Medical Center and the opening of the new UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay with a focus to improve care for patients of all ages.
