Bengfort is the Chief Information Officer at UCSF and joined the organization in June 2011. Mr. Bengfort led the Information Technology organization at a time of substantial transformation, including the implementation of the electronic medical record, consolidation of IT, establishment of data warehousing and analytics capabilities, opening of the new Mission Bay Hospital and an ongoing drive to improve the information security profile at UCSF. Prior to UCSF, Mr. Bengfort worked for 22 years at Perot Systems where he held a broad range of senior leadership positions within the Healthcare Division including the management of key client relationships and service delivery at Parkland Hospital, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Triad Hospitals at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Mr. Bengfort has led strategic implementations of electronic medical records systems at Triad Hospitals (McKesson) and Stanford Hospital and Clinics (Epic) and has led large scale IT operations supporting electronic medical record environments. He also has extensive experience in the development, sales and operations of IT outsourcing in both the financial services and healthcare provider industries.
