Dr. Amy Khan serves as Senior Medical Director with Clinical Consulting, Strategy and Analysis (CCSA) on Aetna’s National Accounts Team. In this role, she works strategically with plan sponsors to enhance care solutions and benefit plan designs that optimize health and wellbeing for employees and their dependents. Prior to her current duties, Amy served in Aetna’s Big Sky market as Senior Medical Director of Clinical Services supporting commercial and Medicare members with a focus on quality improvement, medical management and provider engagement. Dr. Khan has extensive experience with initiatives that strengthen provider alignment toward population health approaches and leverage innovation in information technology and integrated delivery models to effectively meet member needs.
Prior to joining Aetna in 2015, Dr. Khan served in several managed care leadership roles with McKesson, Dignity Health, Concentra, and Kaiser Permanente. A former active duty medical officer with the US Public Health Service, she completed tours in the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Indian Health Service.
Dr. Khan completed her undergraduate studies at Albion College, obtained her Medical Doctorate at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and received her Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. She completed post graduate medical training in Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine and is boarded in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor recreating in the mountains and keeping up on current events.
